Pedal + Paddle
You Can Experience...
Peddle and Paddle:
Your guided biking and
canoeing experience allows you to enjoy the best of what Loch Lomond has to offer – on land, and on the water.
Twenty-three miles long and five miles across at the widest point, Loch Lomond’s 18,000 acres cover the largest area of any lake
in Britain. Its tree lined shores and mountainous backdrop
are best seen on a bike ride or from your canoe.
We start the adventure by bike and head for a beautiful Country Park. On our way we pass Balloch Castle, and then cycle along the edge of the Loch, and take some time to breathe in the beauty of Scotland’s best local asset – the scenery. (please note, dependant on the group, we can use the all natural terrain mountain biking tracks where participants can learn some tricks of this wonderful sport).
Now it’s time to take in the views from the Loch. Never tried canoeing before – don’t worry, it’s easy! You will be taught the basic paddle strokes by the qualified instructor. Then you’re ready to join the leisurely trip; leave your cares behind as you paddle gently back to nature. To complete your Loch Lomond Experience, your Guide will chat with you about the Loch, its legends, and the local history. As we continue the leisurely paddle, castles and country houses can be seen, complementing the stunning views towards Ben Lomond and the Highlands beyond.
